"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path's straight."

Cardinals (w)in the Super Bowl

This one is for Cody. For those of you who don't know, Cody is a die hard Arizona Cardinals fan. Possibly the only one you have ever heard of period, but definately the only one here in Alabama. Before I met Cody I had never even heard of the Cardinals. Had no idea they existed. But after our first date I'm sure I knew a lot more about them than most people. This is actually one of the things that I really loved about Cody. They are probably the worst team ever (sorry, but it's true), but no matter what, Cody stood by them and loved them just the same. No matter how bad they played, how many mistakes they made, games they lost over and over and over again, he still loved them, cheered for them and defended them. He just kept telling everyone who mocked him that their day was coming... and he was right. So, I am so very happy for Cody (and the Cardinals) that they have made it to the Super Bowl. Something that most never thought would ever happen... ever!! Please cheer for them Feb. 1st if you're not a stinkin' Steelers fan!! And for Cody.... your undying loyalty finally paid off!!
To explain the picture: I was in the middle of changing Heidi when the game against the Eagles started to go downhill so I had to give her back to Cody (since they played their best when he was holding her). Poor little thing just passed out, from all the excitement I guess.
(We are a little superstitious when it comes to sports... I once made Cody stay in the bathroom for 1/2 a game of the world series because they only scored when he went to the bathroom. Strange I know but it seems to work.)

Happy New Year!

I know it's now the 3rd day of the new year but what can I say, I'm always late. Anywho, we had a pretty low key new year's eve. We were actually invited to two different places but decided just to stay in. I think that means we're old. Oh well. We seem to miss a lot of gatherings these days. Not that we don't want to go, it's just that sometimes we just cannot make it out of the house. So please do not stop inviting us, we will make it eventually.... hopefully.

I did get to see both Sean and Hunter quite a bit over the holidays. Hunter was actually in town today for a funeral but headed back to Birmingham before I got a chance to see him. Sean is here until Sunday so we are trying to spend as much time with him before he leaves since he doesn't come home from Atlanta that often. Zoe has really enjoyed having him here. He's like her new best friend. Even Heidi adores him and that is saying a lot. It usually takes her a while before she decides if she likes someone or not. Zoe, on the other hand, tried to leave with a strange couple at Target. She keeps me on my toes to say the least.
